Urban challenges

The world is urbanising. By 2050, more than 70 percent of the world’s population will be living in cities. This change presents a series of new challenges in terms of mobility, waste, health, energy and safety. As such, cities require smart solutions that help us avoid waste and make more efficient use of our space and resources, such as parking guidance and information systems, lampposts that also register noise or underground containers that send a notification when they are full. Applications that are not only necessary for survival, but also to increase quality of life. This is the basis for smart cities.

Connectivity as the basis for smart applications

The essential foundation for all these applications? A fast, reliable and flexible data infrastructure that is ready for the future. This requires smart choices to be made when developing buildings, roads or areas. As such, we like to provide developers and governments with constructive input at an early stage in order to achieve optimal connectivity for end users. Connectivity is a basic need for everyone, whether you’re a resident, employee or road user. We don’t stop at the front door either, but provide stable and future-proof connectivity in homes and offices as well, using techniques such as FlexLan and solutions from FIBERunlimited.
