SURFnet and VolkerWessels Telecom sign up for another 15 years

After 15 years, SURFnet, a provider of ICT infrastructure for educational and research institutions in the Netherlands, has once again put the maintenance and management contracts for their dark fibre connections out to tender. In The Hague, SURFnet has so far made use of a fibre optic network installed by VolkerWessels Telecom. This unique 45-kilometre fibre optic ring forms part of the advanced fibre optic network with high-quality services that SURFnet offers to students, staff, teachers and researchers. VolkerWessels Telecom and SURFnet have signed an agreement for another 15 years for the maintenance and management of the dark fibre network in The Hague.

Availability of connectivity
